Never Lose Faith breaks her maiden at Doomben coming from way back to storm home and score.
Faith unfortunately hasn’t had things go her way this prep. She travelled to Rockhampton to hopefully break her maiden and she certainly looked like she was going to until the saddle slipped and dislodged the jockey. She then went to Gold Coast for a 1400m but drew barrier 13 and got caught 3 wide the trip. This was her last run before a spell and as her name suggests the owners weren’t losing Faith.
She looked the part in the mounting yard at Doomben and with a brilliant patient ride from Mark Du Plesis she stormed home to win. “I knew as soon as I cantered off and she had that high knee action she would just love the wet.” Mark said.
She managed to run down $1.30 favourite Enchantingly of Waller’s who tired late.
She’s only a slight thing so I thought she would handle the heavy 8 ok and we were really pleased she did what she did I think she will definitely get a trip with the way she switched off.” Billy said.
Faith will go for a well deserved spell now and we look forward to what she has to offer next prep.
